DAWN VENTURES CODE OF CONDUCT
RESPECT ABOVE ALL ELSE
It doesn't matter if you've been in the company for three weeks or for three years. Respect begets respect, and that is expected from each and every crew member above/ below rank; this includes the Captain.
How can anyone expect to go into battle, or to keep the airship upright if nobody has respect? You can have your grudges and dislikes, but there will be no disrespect.
DISPUTES
If there are disputes between crew, that's fine and to be expected. But don't jeopardize your missions, the ship, or your crew because of bad blood. All issues are to be handled internally and accordingly. Drama isn't a good look for anybody's reputation, the crew's included.
DEFEND THE DEFENSELESS
The Dawn Ventures are akin to Sky Pirates, though we're not criminals. Don't enact senseless violence, bloodshed or cruelty. Protect those that can't defend themselves, and prevent those with power from bringing unjust harm to others. We may not all be heroes, but we can make sure that those who deserve it get what's coming.
(OOC) Code of Conduct
Age Restricted
We are an 18+ Free Company. Due to the dark and mature themes that, we require that all members be adults.
Lore Compliant
We're an FC that works under the policy of being "Lore Compliant". Meaning that we're happy to take characters of all walks of life and backstories. However, we prefer that if you have something in your story out of the ordinary that you be able to explain it with lore the game has established.
Respect Begets Respect
Not unlike the Crew rules, respect is given to everyone. And it is expected that while you don't have to like somebody or everybody, you do have to respect them. It doesn't matter how long you've been around, or what rank you are. If you can't give respect, then it's better that you find somewhere else to hang out. We are all adults, and don't have the energy nor time to pour into drama.
Communication Is Key
If you're uncomfortable about something, say something! You can talk about it to Tolun (FC Operator) and they'll see what they can do to help take care of the problem. If someone else was in your position, you'd speak up for them right? Speak up for yourself or others so we can continue enjoying ourselves and the community.
RP Is a HOBBY. NOT a Job
If you need to take a break, you're overwhelmed, or you need something to change to enjoy yourself, don't hesitate to reach out to Tolun (FC Operator)! Don't freak out if you need to step back and do your thing, we're here to hang out and have fun, not punch in for a job.
Powerful/ Overpowered PCs
It 's okay to have a strong character. In a world full of monsters and gods, it wouldn't be a surprise to say that there's warriors out there who've got a handle of things! However, we're not gods who can destroy combat with the wave of a hand, nor can we topple nations. As such, these rules are to protect both the strong and weak/ noncombat characters. Please adhere to these rules for characters with considerable prowess— both IC and OOC.
DICE IS LAW
You WILL be subscribing to utilize dice rolls for any interaction where there is combat of any kind. You WILL take the results of the dice without complaint (the only time this changes is if there is a modifier present), because your character can and has the ability to be beaten by another person. This is so that those with weaker powered comparative characters can feel safe that their character will not die.If your character is, somehow, overpowered or otherwise outsmarted in combat, take the loss as it comes and do not complain. I am NOT saying to let your character be walked over. What I am saying is to let others have their wins if they get them. RNG does not favor any specific person, don't make them feel builty for winning.
DO NOT FLAUNT OR BRAG ABOUT YOUR POWER LEVEL
It's fine to say "I have a strong character! Can I show you more?" And then proceeding if you have consent. It is NOT fine to say "My character is so strong that they can destroy anything/ anyone and get away with it! " If you are caught using statements like that, you will be warned to stop. It isn't fair nor comfortable for others to be at the mercy of hearing how overpowered your character is, especially without their consent.
